Belle’s Grilled Ahi Steak

A tender and juicy Ahi steak that is as flavorful and hearty as beef

Tales of the Dinner Belle

By Brenda Stanley

A tender and juicy steak is a real treat, and if you haven’t tried Ahi Tuna, the best way to describe it is one of the most flavorful and tender steaks you can imagine. Ahi or Yellowfin Tuna is a dense and meaty fish that tastes very little like fish. It is much more similar to beef in both flavor and texture. Almost always it is seared and served rare, but you can cook it a bit longer- to medium- and it is still tender and delicious. You can marinate it, or serve it with a sauce, but I love it simply seasoned with garlic salt and pepper. What is also great about this steak is how low in calories (about 120) and high in protein (about 25 grams) it is, making it even better.

Belle’s Grilled Ahi Steak

4 Fresh (2-inch thick) Ahi Steaks

Garlic Salt

Pepper

Teriyaki sauce (optional)

Spray grill with cooking spray and heat to high (400 degrees). Sprinkle steaks on all sides with garlic salt and pepper. Place on the hot grill and cook for three minutes, turn and cook another three minutes. If you want rare steaks, cook for 2 minutes of less- Just don’t overcook them. Top them with a drizzle of teriyaki sauce, if desired.
