Belle’s Crispy Air Fryer Chicken

A crispy fried chicken without all the oil! Some recipes are so good and so easy that they become my go-tos, and I end up making them sometimes once a week. My crispy air fryer chicken is at the top of that list. It’s incredibly simple to make, and it’s so juicy and delicious. I especially love the crunch of this fried chicken, and this recipe uses almost no oil —just a spritz of cooking spray. I always use chicken thighs. The dark meat is more flavorful and remains tender and juicy. Summer is a great time for this dish. When the weather is warm, keeping the big oven off and using the air fryer is just another reason I love this dish. I think you will, too.

Belle’s Crispy Air Fryer Chicken

4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs

½ cup flour

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

½ teaspoon garlic salt

Olive oil cooking spray. Mix together the flour and seasonings, then spread the mixture evenly on a plate. Rinse chicken thighs and shake off excess water. Dredge each thigh, coating all sides in the mix, and shake off the excess. Place the chicken skin-side-down in the basket of the air fryer, which has been well-sprayed with cooking spray. Spray the chicken thighs and then air-fry at 375°F for 15 minutes. When finished, flip each thigh and spray the tops with the cooking spray. Airfry for an additional 15 minutes at 375°F until the chicken is golden brown and a thermometer reads 165°F.
